2007
Purchase of 4 hectares of land in Ndola; foundations and building of first chalet started.
2008
Building more chalets.
Agriculture course for Ziso & Charlton; farm management, planting crops etc - preparation of plot for planting.
2009
Building chalets ongoing.
Purchase of truck for site work.
2010
Building perimeter wall, with fence & gates.
Interior work on chalets - pipes, wiring etc.
Start of work on borehole, to source water.
2011
Building canteen; bricks for office and common room; gravel to level site, landscaping.
Preliminary prioritising of Sakania children; initial interviewing for house mums.
Sakania children’s first safari trip to Nsobe.
2012
Interior work on chalets - plastering, flooring, painting etc.
Building ablution block.
Electricity - final stages of installation.
Borehole still problematic.
2013
Interior work on chalets - plumbing, carpentry etc.
Wednesday 18th September - first children arrive at Oasis Village, sister and brother, Gillrinnoh (11) and Elijah (6).
Tree planting.
2014
8 chalets built, plus office block, ablution block, canteen, storage and car port.
May - water finally on tap, after 3 years of problems with borehole.
Visits to children in Sakania & Kaloko villages for assessments regarding coming to Oasis Village.
2015
January - opening of Mountainside Primary School; around 120 pupils attending by Easter, over 200 by July!
August - now 20 children living at Oasis and attending Mountainside.
December - trip for Oasis children to Livingstone (safari, boat cruise, Victoria Falls, go-karting)
2016
Building work; guest house and additional classrooms.
Friday 5th August - official opening of Oasis Village.
33 children living at Oasis Village by end of 2016; music & swimming lessons.
About 400 pupils at the school.
11 classrooms now complete.
Computer lab in operation.
Successes in art competition.
2017
More children move in to Oasis Village - now 38 in residence.
500 pupils at school.
School’s football teams, girls and boys, successful in inter-schools’ competition.
First year of Grade 7 pupils moving on to Secondary Schools - 100% pass rate in exams.
2018
56 children living at Oasis Village.
550 pupils at school.
First school inspection, pleasing outcomes.
Career Day and Sports Day at school.
Second year of Grade 7 pupils achieve 100% pass rate in exams.
2019
Oasis children’s music group performances in Lusaka, local churches and Nsobe.
Easter Bible Camp for 7 - 13 year olds.
Some children participate in swimming gala.
Library/computer lab nearing completion - gift of laptops from American visitors.
Purchase of bus for Oasis children and light truck for ongoing building work.
School gains recognition as exam centre.
End of term presentations by pupils to parents - reading, science experiments, poetry, drama, singing, memory verses etc.
2020
2 more children arrive at Oasis.
House mums create gardens for growing vegetables.
Life at Oasis and Mountainside impacted by coronavirus restrictions - all appropriate precautions in place.
Installation of solar panels & inverters at Oasis.
Library/computer lab completed.
Sports facility - work started on providing tennis court, basketball court, volleyball court and football pitch.

Oasis Village seeks to help orphans, widows and the community at large. It provides vulnerable children accommodation, education and food.  The children are also encouraged to develop talents and abilities through music and sports. Christianity and teaching the Word of God, through love and actions, is fundamental in everything we do. We want to see our children go far and achieve their dreams and we will do whatever we can to make this possible.
